VANCOUVER, BC, November 20, 2007 - Grande Portage Resources Ltd. (TSX-V GPG) ("Grande Portage" or "the Company") is pleased to announce that it is in the process of undertaking metallurgical testing for acid base accounting and metals recoveries on select samples of drill core to follow-up the recently announced geological resource at the Merry Widow open pit. Composite samples from four drill holes are being prepared at ALS Chemex and will be processed locally in North Vancouver, BC. The samples will test various styles of mineralization including: higher gold and average copper grades in massive sulphide, higher gold-silver-copper grades in sulphide-magnetite, low gold and higher copper grades in sulphide-skarn, and high-grade gold-silver-copper in massive sulphide. The Company anticipates receiving the test results by mid to late December, 2007.

Pursuant to the Company's recent water sampling program at the Merry Widow open pit and underground, workings, Wardrop Engineering Ltd. confirm that results from the samples obtained will be back from the laboratory within a week.

The Company is also pleased to announce that it has appointed Wesley Raven P. Geo., as Vice-President, Exploration. Mr. Raven graduated from the University of British Columbia in 1983 and brings to the Company nearly 25 years of exploration experience in Canada and abroad. Mr. Raven has worked for both senior and junior mining companies and has extensive drill program management from small preliminary testing to expansive programs for ore reserve definition. Mr. Raven has experience in a variety of mineral deposit types, including porphyry copper-gold, magmatic nickel-copper, epithermal and mesothermal gold vein systems, volcanogenic massive sulphide deposits, skarn deposits and carbonate-hosted base metals. Mr. Raven has managed exploration programs for precious and base metals throughout Canada, USA, Mexico, Africa (Ghana, Niger) and South America. Mr. Raven is well versed with the Company's land holdings and exploration programs to date as prior to this appointment he served the Company as a senior consulting geologist.
