VANCOUVER, BC, March 27, 2017 -- Grande Portage Resources Ltd. (TSX-V GPG) ("Grande Portage" or "the Company") is pleased to announce that it has received regulatory approval to commence drilling at its Herbert Gold project located within the Juneau Gold Belt in southeast Alaska. 

The Company has contracted First Nations Drilling LLC., an Alaskan-based contractor to drill up to 19,000 feet of diamond drill core on the Company's project. The upcoming drill program will test targets significantly deeper and further to the east than in year's past. The Company will specifically target the Main, Deep Trench, Ridge and Goat veins during this program. 

This news release has been prepared and approved by Carl Hale, CPG, a geologist with more than 40 years of experience and a Qualified Person as defined under NI #43-101.

The Herbert Gold Property is host to abundant composite vein-fault structures containing ribbon structure quartz-sulfide veins and lies prominently within the 100-mile long Juneau gold belt, which has produced nearly seven million ounces of gold through a total depth range of thousands of feet.
